Massey community mourns the passing of Non-Resident Junior Fellow, Helen Mo. Helen was a doctoral student in the Department for the Study of Religion at the University of Toronto, a recipient of an SSHRC doctoral fellowship, and was an engaged, supportive, community-spirited colleague of , actively involved in many aspects of College life.
As a Non-Resident Captain of House IV, Helen was involved in gender relations issues, and was an advocate for the protection and embracing of diversity. Junior Fellows and the broader community remember her as a dear friend, a fearless and ethical leader, a mentor to new Fellows, and a brilliant scholar and writer.
The college flag is at half-mast as an expression of our profound sadness. We are making a collective donation to the Helen Mo Scholarship Fund, set up through the University of Toronto to receive donations to help those pursuing religious studies with an interdisciplinary approach.
