Wisdom of Life

Senior Residents

Senior Residents are visiting scholars or distinguished professionals from across Canada and around the world who may wish to live at the College for an academic year. They participate actively in College life, and can represent any occupation or academic discipline.

Scholars on sabbatical, researchers or distinguished arts professionals, who do not require accommodation, may apply to become Visiting Scholars.  The appointment is for the duration of the academic year.

Applicants are asked to submit a cv and a letter outlining their anticipated work while at the College, as well as how they plan to participate in the College life.  Applications should be submitted to Amela Marin, the College Registrar: amarin@masseycollege.ca or by mail at 4 Devonshire Place, Toronto, M5S 2E1. The applications for 2016-2017 will be accepted as of May 1 2016. The deadline is June 6, 2016. Notifications of acceptance will be sent in the first week of July.

Please note that there is an annual fee of $750. If you wish to rent a carrel, there is an additional charge of $560 per annum.

  • Dear Ms Marin, Registrar I have just found that my sabbatical for the academic year 2016-2015 has been confirmed from my University. I will be working on a manuscript that has numerous Toronto design references and hope to have opportunities to work with faculty and community in Toronto. Please let me know the details of the application, dates, costs, responsibilities etc. as a Senior Resident. I would very much appreciate being a resident at the College during my 2016/2017 leave. I stayed at Massey Hall for a few days last summer and hoped one day would bring me back for a longer stay. Thank you, Jody Rosenblatt Naderi
