In February 2011, the Robertson Davies Library received the first part in a donation of archives and printing equipment from William Rueter documenting his life’s work in building the celebrated Aliquando Press in Dundas, Ontario. This donation will include the “Rueter Printing Collection” of printed and manuscript pages, books, bindings and ephemera — a collection that was begun a century ago by his Dutch relatives who were also printers.

This first accession received by the library provides a wonderfully rich insight into Will Rueter’s long and distinguished career in the graphic arts.

The collection is open to all interested researchers and will be a tremendous resource for students in the Book History and Print Culture Program and the Massey College Print Shop.
