Fees, Bursaries, Grants
The fee schedule for the 2012-2013 academic year (September-April, inclusive) is shown below. Fees for Resident Junior Fellows include accommodation in suites consisting of a bedroom and adjacent private study, with housekeeping services, and all meals, six days a week, as well as the formal High Table dinners held bi-weekly.
Resident Junior Fellow $11,500
Non-Resident Junior Fellow $500
An initial non-refundable deposit of $700 for Resident Junior Fellows is payable on acceptance of a Junior Fellowship. The balance of fees is payable in mid-September and mid-January. The non-refundable annual fee of $500 for Non-Resident Junior Fellows is payable on acceptance of their Fellowship offer. College fees do not include academic fees and other fees payable to the University.
A meal plan is available to Non-Resident Junior Fellows. The Dining Hall offers vegetarian and non-vegetarian meals but the College cannot accommodate specific dietary problems or dietary preferences. While breakfast and lunch are served cafeteria-style, dinner is served formally and all members of the College are required to wear a College gown for dinner. Junior Fellows who wish to live in College outside the academic year may do so for an additional fee. Please note that smoking is not permitted at Massey College except outside the buildings.
Bursaries
Massey College has a bursary program, the aim of which is to assist graduate students in need. Bursaries are awarded on the basis of financial need, academic achievement, and community involvement. Bursaries for residents are applied against fees while bursaries for non-residents are typically applied against College meals. Submitting the bursary application by May 1st will enable the College, where possible, to provide bursary confirmation at the time of an offer of admission. Click here for Bursary Application Form.
Foreign Student Bursaries
The College is pleased to announce that, in addition to our regular bursary program, a recent and very generous anonymous donation from a College alumnus has enabled us to provide significant bursary support specifically to foreign students who have been offered a Junior Fellowship at the College. The application process for these funds is similar to that used for our regular bursary program (see information above).
Travel Grants
Travel grants are also available to both resident and non-resident Junior Fellows in the second term of each academic year. Information on how to apply for financial assistance to attend conferences, or other research opportunities outside of Toronto, will be provided during second term. For further information, please contact the Registrar at 416-978-2891 or by e-mail at ddzwonyk@masseycollege.ca.
