How To Apply
Applicants for Junior Fellowships must be full-time graduate students at the University of Toronto. You may apply even if you have not yet received an offer of admission from the University of Toronto. There is no application fee. Applications are accepted until May 1st each year. Please indicate whether you are applying for resident or non-resident status and why you are interested in Massey College. In addition, you must provide:
- a completed Junior Fellow Application Form.
- evidence of admission to the University of Toronto (this information may, if necessary, be submitted after May 1st) ;
- a curriculum vitae, including details of education, scholarships, and honours achieved, and an account of other interests and activities;
- official academic transcripts; if not available by May 1st, these may be forwarded separately.
- where appropriate, an outline of proposed graduate work
- two letters of reference, at least one related to your academic career (faxed or emailed letters must be followed by original signed copies); and
- a covering letter, which indicates why you wish to be a member of Massey College.
Junior Fellow applications are reviewed by a Selection Committee. Admission is based on academic achievement, extra-curricular activities, and general experience. Consideration is also given to having representation among Junior Fellows from all academic disciplines. All applicants accepting election to Junior Fellowship commit themselves financially to the whole academic year (thirty-four weeks). Election is for one year. Junior Fellows may apply for re-election in each of four succeeding years; residence, however, cannot exceed a total of three years.
Applicants will receive confirmation when all documents have been received, and will be advised of the decisions of the Selection Committee in mid to late June.
Completed applications for junior fellowships must reach the College not later than May 1st and should be addressed to:
