New Chair of the Quadrangle Society

I am delighted to report that the Legacy Committee, appointed from the Quadranglers suggested by Ken McCarter, has elected David R. Smith as the new Chair of Massey Quadrangle Society, by a clear majority.

Devid Smith headshotDavid manages his time across three portfolios: his family, the clients in his private advisory practice, and his community. His commitment to community is wide-ranging and currently includes a seat on the Academic Board of the University of Toronto, as well as on the board of Rise Asset Development, where he chaired their investment committee for several years. David has a long-standing commitment to advancing thought leadership which has been demonstrated in his time spent with the Martin Prosperity Institute and supporting an internationally renowned consulting organization. He continues this commitment as a mentor to several Massey Junior Fellows, among others, who show enormous potential to make a significant positive impact. David holds several degrees, with an MBA from the Rotman School of Management among them. He also earned the ICD.D designation for corporate directors and the FEA certification for senior advisors to family enterprise. He is a recipient of the University of Toronto’s Arbor Award, and led a team that received the June Callwood Award from the Province of Ontario. Among other things, David loves music, art and a good meandering conversation.

His leadership will be a wonderful asset for both the Quadrangle Society, and for the College overall. I know you will want to join me in wishing him well in his new pro-bono role!
