Message from the Principal

Message from the Principal

Dear Members of the Massey Community, Chers collègues,

It has now been one year since I became the Principal of Massey College: a year full of wonderful connections, fabulous events and several challenges. I remain steadfast in my commitment to Massey to ensure its relevance as a place for ideas in our complex world.

We are very excited to be working on the plan for the start of the new academic year and the arrival of our new cohort of Junior Fellows on September 1st. The College has adapted its space and programming to reflect the health and safety requirements necessary to prevent the spread of COVID. To ensure that everyone in our community can participate in our events, we have added technological supports to join virtually. The Dining Hall will be open but with limitations of space. We will operate cafeteria-style with boxed meals and a maximum of about 40 spaces, 56 if the weather permits eating in the quadrangle. The full COVID prevention protocol will be posted on the website following approval by the Risk Committee.

A few other announcements:

First, I am pleased to announce the nomination of the following people to Massey committees:

Nominee Massey Status Committee
Gurveer Bains Recent Alum Governance and Nominating
Julian Posada Junior Fellow Governance and Nominating
Brett House Senior Fellow Finance and Audit
Leting Liu Junior Fellow Finance and Audit
Aarya Patil Junior Fellow Risk

Second, we will soon be issuing a Call for Nominations to the Governing Board to reflect the wish of the Board to add new members representing the Junior Fellows.

Third, I want to thank the many who shared ideas for the Future of Massey College. I invite you to continue to send your ideas to
