Dear Junior Fellows,
Our Environment Committee, in collaboration with Senior Fellow Dr. Dianne Saxe and Visiting Scholar Rosemary McCarney, and as part of Massey’s mandate to contribute wisely to the public good, are putting on a virtual climate conference from November 9-19th, 2020 entitled Massey is Missing COP26.
This five-part series on Climate Change will serve to prepare Canada to build strategic momentum towards a powerful Canadian role at COP26 at the next United Nations Climate Change Conference (also known as COP26), which was to take place in Glasgow this year, which has now been postponed to 2021.
They’re looking for a Webinar Coordinator (1-month position, total of 18 hours) to produce the five events in the series. The Coordinator will do 3 hours of Zoom Webinar training with Abra Rissi (our Digital Events Producer) and will be required 3 hours per day each day of each event (3 hrs *5 dates), for a total of 18 hours. The dates and times of the online events are:
Monday, November 9th – 11:30am-1:30pm
Thursday, November 12th – 11:30am-1:30pm
Monday, November 16th – 11:30am-1:30pm
Tuesday, November 17th – 11:30am-1:30pm
Thursday, November 19th – 11:30am – 2:00pm
Experience with online events software and Zoom is necessary, experience with Zoom Webinar is an asset. Interest in the environmental movement is not required, but would certainly be a plus!
To apply, please send an application letter outlining any applicable experience, direct and transferable skills (note that general tech-savviness and computer literacy is entirely appropriate!), and what you would bring to the role / hope to get out of the role, along with a short resume documenting relevant experience, to: firstname.lastname@example.org. If you have any questions about the posting and the details of the job, feel free to get in touch with Abra directly.
