Call for Nominations to Massey College Governing Board
To: The Massey College Community
From: The Governance & Nominating Committee of Governing Board
Subject: Call for Nominations to the Massey College Governing Board (2nd round)
Massey College, a unique academic and graduate residential community located in the heart of The University of Toronto, provides a collegial and intellectual environment for individuals of distinguished ability. Eminent scholars and members of the wider community come together to interact and provide a mentoring atmosphere and support system.
The College is overseen by a Governing Board (GB) responsible for ensuring that its mission is realized. The Board, both directly and through a variety of Committees, ensures that the affairs of the College are managed in a timely and ethical way.
Although there was a recent call for nominations in May of 2018, an insufficient number of applications was received, and so we are re-issuing this call.
There are five vacancies arising on the board due to term expirations as of July 1, 2019. In accordance with a resolution passed at the March 23, 2018 meeting of the Governing Board, the following process for appointing new GB members has come into effect:
- The new process can be viewed HERE
- The role of GB members is described in the document HERE
- Nominations used the nomination form that can be filled and save from HERE
All members of the Massey Community (including Alumni, Junior Fellows, Members of the Quadrangle Society, Senior Fellows or Staff) are eligible to nominate new GB members for consideration. Each nominee must be supported by two members of the Community. Nominees must be currently-appointed Senior Fellows of the College.
Nominations must include the nomination form mentioned above, as well as the Candidate’s CV and a letter of nomination (2-page maximum). Nominations should be e-mailed to the Chair of the Committee at MasseyGBNom@MasseyCollege.ca.
Nominations are due by February 22, 2019.
