Visual storytelling—using whiteboard animation, comics and graphic novels—is an expanding and exciting field in medicine and health care. There’s even a Graphic Medicine Manifesto! Patients tell their own stories (“graphic pathologies”) and health care professionals communicate with the public and each other. Come to the Massey Upper Library & learn more from panellists Doc Mike Evans (famous for his Youtube videos), Shelley Wall (assistant prof. in U of Toronto’s biomedical communications program), and Toronto cartoonist Sarafin (Asylumsquad.ca). The panel is organized by Ann Silversides, the 2015 Barbara Moon Editorial Fellow, and sponsored by Massey College, Ars Medica and the U of T program in Health Art and Humanities.
