Trevor Plint, co-founder of Amber Molecular, will use three objects describe some tough lessons he learned in the process of developing new light emitting chemicals for use in TVs, VR headsets, smartphones, and wearable technology.
Julia Roy, of OMERS Ventures, will discuss accelerating innovation and emerging technology in investment banking, healthcare, and technology startups.
Ryan Doherty, Digital Health Social entrepreneur, will talk about the challenges he faced starting Empower Health (iamsick.ca) and share his thoughts on the importance of a multi-channel business model, design thinking, and market timing.
The talk will be moderated by Professor Benjamin Alarie, Osler Chair of Business Law in the Faculty of Law at the University of Toronto and Massey alumnus. Professor Alarie researches and teaches in taxation law and judicial decision-making. He is also co-founder and CEO of Blue Jay Legal, a company creating next generation legal research tools that harness the power of artificial intelligence to provide answers in tax and employment law.
