The Chapel Royal Symposium Presents: music & miskâsowin with Moe Clark

May 8 at 4:00 pm - 5:00 pm EDT

Re-earthing the Bones of Resonance + Resilience through song

keynote, performance, q+a with moe clark:
âpihtawikosisâniskwêw 2Spirit multidisciplinary artist.

The performance will be broadcast here.

Moe Clark fuses together vocal improvisation, multilingual lyricism and ritual performance to create meaning that is rooted in personal legacy and ancestral memory. Song as medicine; Moe invites us on a journey through miskâsowin – a nêhiyawêwin concept/word: finding belonging, knowing ones place within the circle. Integrating land-based processes, intergenerational collaboration, ceremony and the vibratory signatures of indigenous languages and song, Moe weaves her journey through miskâsowin.

As the hoop expands and changes along our paths, we are constantly challenged to awaken our gifts. As we come into relationship with others, they help us transform and acknowledge these gifts to be used in service to wâhkôhtowin (kinship). For Moe, music is one of the gifts she carries in her bundle; one that has been a main source of survival throughout her life.
