Dear Massey Community:
With the 2019 Charity Auction fast approaching on Friday, January 25, the Community Services Committee hereby puts out the call for your contributions.
The beneficiaries, selected by the Junior Fellows, are the Child Welfare Political Action Committee (a federally incorporated not-for-profit that advocates for a progressive child welfare system), and Sistema Toronto (a social development program that transforms children’s lives through the pursuit of musical excellence).
Note that this year our Charity Auction will take place 5:00 pm-6:45 pm — with complimentary drinks and hors d’oeuvres — in advance of High Table, “A Poetic Feast.”
In the past, Masseyites have auctioned off goods and services that range from the purely practical to the hilariously useless to the wonderfully experiential. Once, a Junior Fellow donated her time and skill to a month-long ironing extravaganza — a wrinkle-free existence; what splendour!
What might you donate to the Charity Auction?!
Whether it be a musical serenade, a magic trick, a homemade dinner for two, a cottage weekend retreat, old socks — or even the offer to organize someone’s entire library alphabetically — every size and shape and persuasion of contribution is welcome.
Simply a bottle of scotch — or a well-read favourite book, or a photography portrait session, or… any offering that comes to mind — would be plenty, and indeed would be much appreciated. It all adds up, and makes a difference.
Please send your auction donations, with a 50-word description, to firstname.lastname@example.org by Monday, January 21. If your contribution is a physical item, please drop it off two days prior (by end of day Wednesday, January 23), at the Offices across from the Porter’s Lodge.
The auction catalogue will be posted online prior to the event.
Thank you for your loyalty and continued support. Massey College is successful due to our shared sense of community and outreach. Let us, once again, pool our resources to support those around us.
Going once, going twice …!
