You are invited to join the Jackman Humanities Institute’s Environmental Humanities Network, the Massey College Environment and Sustainability Committee, and the Massey College Gender and Sexual Diversity Committee in a screening and discussion of Gillian McKercher’s 2018 film Circle of Steel. Winner of the Calgary International Film Festival’s Alberta Feature Audience Choice Award, Circle of Steel prompts essential questions about labour, extraction, and the lived experience of drastic economic and environmental shifts. Gillian will be joining us to discuss her film andquestions brought about by these themes.
