Faith and the Fate of the Earth with Stephen Bede Scharper

What responsibilities do universities carry in a time of ecological crisis? And what wisdom can faith traditions offer as we rethink how we live on the Earth?

Join the Massey Interfaith Committee for a conversation with Professor Stephen Bede Scharper, environmental ethicist, public scholar, and Senior Fellow of Massey College. Drawing on his work at the intersection of ecology, ethics, and religion, Professor Scharper will explore how higher education can move beyond knowledge production to cultivate ecological ways of life.
Bringing together perspectives from environmental ethics, social justice, and spiritual traditions, this event invites participants to reflect on the moral imagination needed for our shared future and the role universities can play in nurturing it.
Come ready to think, question, and imagine how faith, learning, and responsibility meet in the care of our common home.
