New chair for the Quadrangle Book Society

The College is delighted to announce that Angela Ferrante, a long time Quadrangler, has accepted the Chairmanship of the Massey Quadrangle Society Book Club.

Angela Ferrante headshotAngela was most recently Chair of the Toronto Central Local Health Integration Network which manages the health sector in downtown Toronto. She is a former Chief Operating Officer of the Ontario Energy Board, a Senior Vice President of BMO Financial Group and a Vice President of Ontario Power Generation as well as Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of the C.D. Howe Institute.

For the first twenty years of her career, she was a journalist in Montreal and Toronto. She has over 30 years’ experience on boards of Crown corporations and not for profits, including Via Rail, the Ombudsman for Financial Services and Investments, the Independent Electricity System Operator, the Ontario Institute for Studies in Education, TVOntario Foundation, Canadian Journalism Foundation and National Newspaper Awards, along with others.

Some years ago, Angela co-authored of a woman’s autobiography called “Out of Iran”, one of the first post-revolution expat books, which told the story of a woman’s experience growing up in Iran as a member of the privileged class, her imprisonment after the revolution and her escape on horseback to Iraq. The book sold over a million copies worldwide.

The College community, the Quadrangle Society and the Quadrangle Society Book Club are deeply fortunate to have our popular and well-attended book club led by so accomplished and thoughtful a Massey community member.
