Join us on Monday, March 3, 2014 for the presentation of
Charlotte Gray’s The Massey Murder: A Maid, her Master and the Trial that Shocked a Country.
Presented by John Fraser.
Charlotte Gray’s non-fiction shocker is not about current affairs at the college, as our presenter, Master Emeritus Designate Fraser, will attempt to demonstrate, but about the murder of a minor member of the Massey family in Toronto in 1917. Who dunnit? is not the issue, but the book is primarily about the social context of the place and time. John Fraser, our presenter, may be disposed to suggest that there is more to the Massey family than Charlotte Gray conveys, given that both he and she have been the beneficiaries of Massey largesse and influence.
